Human Rights Essay

What are the most important humans rights? Human rights are essential to maintain order in today’s society because without them destruction and long term damage would occur. I believe the right to equality, freedom from torture and degrading treatment and the right to an education are the three most important human rights. All human rights are enforced by the law, however not all people agree with these rights especially the right to equality.

The right to equality is the right where all people are treated as equals and nobody is more privileged than any other individual or group. This is one of the most important rights because every individual deserves the same opportunities regardless of their ethnicity, nationality, colour or beliefs.  Equality rights weren’t enforced as well in the 1900’s as they are now, the beating of the taxi driver, Rodney King is an example of this. Without this human right, racism, discrimination and degrading treatment to certain groups would become a common aspect to our everyday lives which is entirely wrong.

Freedom from torture and degrading treatment is a right which should of been a right imposed from the start of time. This right protects all people from torture (physically and mentally) and from any inhuman and brutal punishment. Like equality, this right is important because every individual should be treated with respect and shouldn’t be handled in a way that can potentially harm them. Freedom from torture is one of the many rights that can not be overridden which means that under no circumstances this right may be allowed.

The right to an education is fundamental for a human and their success. It gives people empowerment and proves to be beneficial for an individual’s future. Yet so many children and adults can’t acquire an education due to poverty or conflict, however there are children who don’t engage at school even though they have this great opportunity. In sub-Saharan Africa forty percent of the girls and boys can’t attend schools as a result of poverty. Having an education helps develops the full potential of people, builds relationships and promotes an individual's well being. People have been known to say that education is a privilege, but it’s not - it’s a right.

To conclude, these three rights, right to equality, freedom from torture and degrading treatment and the right to education are all essential rights to maintain order and insure that everyone is provided with their standard needs.  Without these rights, without all human rights the world we know today would fall to pieces and people wouldn’t be able to live freely. I believe that these three rights are the most important to keep society at peace and in order.

Gamefroot

For our class project we're using gamefroot to design a 3D game.  Gamefroot is an app that allows you to create and play games for you to share. This platform is easy to use as it provides tutorials and has many simple features for you to use in your game.

The artwork in my game starts as a bush scene with palm trees as the background and colors of mainly green and brown. The end of the game is as a ice scene with many different features and obstacles.

Here is the start screen of my game.

Here is the end screen of my game.

This is an image of part of  my level.

This is my character in my game.

I enjoyed using gamefroot because it was very easy and simple, but could also be challenging depending on the features you use.

Try my game out! http://gamefroot.com/game/tyras-first-game-class/

Changing Failure to Success

I chose Jim Carrey life experiences to represent failure changing into success.
What I will take away from this project is you should try and try again even after you've failed.
Jim's childhood was very difficult for him because his father couldn't keep a job which meant he didn't get many opportunities. When he was 15 he dropped out of high school to help his family. After many failed interviews his success finally came in the interview with Oprah Winfrey and spoke about the 'Law of Attraction'. He also received a 10 million dollar payment from starring in the movie Dumb and Dumber.

Published Free Writing

As I stare at the crystal clear lake, I feel the cool breeze against my cheek sending shivers down my spine. The lake is a mirror, the shining sun, snow tipped mountains and trees reflect off the still water. I look to the trees above calmly waving at me, I wave back with a wide smile and breathe in the fresh air they give. The only noise made is the crackle of the fallen leaves as I walk towards home. These fresh autumn days fall by as quick as the leaves from the trees.
